Zidele was formed out of the frustration stemmed from the unemployment crisis of the local community of Soweto. We had come together as an open projective of knowing what we want to do which is create jobs for ourselves.


We had come from different backgrounds and skills as the community we find ourselves with the people who have jobs and are experienced in a certain field. We have the constructors or professional young people armed with I.T and Technology Oateres Environment Business Individual. Hence we find ourselves rich in diverse entrepreneurship.


In 2014 the mayor of Oberg metro declared war against poverty by introducing the jozi@work strategy where he registered free co-op and pty companies with the intention   of assisting the local community to do the service in their own local municipality that is how we became part of the beneficiaries. 




We are a multi-purpose co-op however our main service is agriculture which includes cultivating on a large scale and rearing livestock, farming.


We have a vegetable and herb garden where we plant the following:


Vegetables: Spinach, Carrots, Beetroot, Green Beans, Garlic, Onion, Green Pepper, Brinjol, Cabbage, Tomato, Pumpkin, Jam Squash


Herbs: Rosemary, Lavender, Parsley


Our other sectors include:

  1. construction and building
  2. training as part of transferring skills to others
  3. women empowering projects including sewing, catering and cleaning
